The Dolphin Head Trust was formed to manage the ecologically
fragile Dolphin Head area in a sustainable manner. The long term
objective of the Trust is to facilitate the establishment of the
Dolphin Head National Park (a Protected Area under the National System
of Parks and Protected Areas), and serve as a
co-management entity by: promoting the sustainable use of natural
resources; conserving biodiversity promoting environmental awareness,
and; fostering the development of compatible alternative livelihood
economic activities. |

Recognizing the importance of holistic development, the Trust also
seeks to enhance its role as a catalyst for economic development
throughout the parish of Hanover, with particular focus on alternative
energy, sustainable waste management, beautification and nature-based
tourism development. |
